This coffee comes from the hills of Kayanza, where three friends—Picasso, Zephyrin, and Jeremie—have been building something special since 2017. What started with 32,000 trees is now a community effort: over 1,700 farmers delivering cherries to the Umuco Washing Station.
In 2020, they shifted exclusively to natural processing. By 2024, they’d built their own washing station—clean, focused, and run with intention. The goal? Better yields, better pay, and more opportunity—especially for young people and women.
The natural process is slow and patient: ripe cherries dried for up to four weeks, cupped daily, then milled and prepped for export. It’s a coffee rooted in routine—just like the one in your cup.
